Leben zwischen den Stühlen

Monograph: overview of works from the 2010s

Stories about Humanity

At the heart of the works by Ruprecht von Kaufmann (born 1974 in Munich, lives and works in Berlin) is the human being with all its facets. As one of the leading narrative painters, von Kaufmann does not shy away from either modern painting or the narrative visual language in his subjects. People are emotionally touched by stories, which is the idea behind von Kaufmann’s portraits, in which fragile beings emerge.

Following his sensitive portrait series of refugees, which was published as a book project last year, von Kaufmann presents an overview of works from the 2010s in his new monograph. With a text by Sylvia Volz. (Text: Publisher)
