For the first time, the Museum Bensheim is featuring a private art collection as the theme of a special exhibition: "The Familiar in the Foreign" provides insights into the collection of Detlev Blenk and offers a personal perspective on collecting contemporary art. The focus on a few collection themes was Blenk's original attempt to sharpen the eye's focus. This resulted in a biographical collection concept that sensitively and symbiotically expresses both the artworks and the collector's life. On display is a concentrated selection of works, including pieces by Ruprecht von Kaufmann, Carina Linge, Gary Schlingheider, and Andi Fischer. Text: Organizer

 

Erstmals wird im Museum Bensheim eine private Kunstsammlung zum Thema einer Sonderausstellung: „Das Eigene im Fremden“ erlaubt Einblicke in die Sammlung Detlev Blenk und eröffnet eine persönliche Sichtweise auf das Sammeln zeitgenössischer Kunst. Der Fokus auf wenige Sammlungsthemen war der ursprüngliche Versuch Blenks, das Auge konzentrierter zu schulen. Daraus entstanden ist ein biografisches Sammlungskonzept, das Kunstwerke und Leben des Sammlers feinfuehlig und symbiotisch zum Ausdruck bringt. Gezeigt wird eine konzentrierte Auswahl an Werken, unter anderem von Ruprecht von Kaufmann, Carina Linge, Gary Schlingheider und Andi Fischer. Text: Veranstalter
